6 slices white bread, trim the crust
Softened butter
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 pound pork sausage, cooked and drained
2 cups Jack cheese
1 (6 oz.) can green chilies, diced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Trim crust from bread. Butter one side. Place butter side down in 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese over bread.
Add cooked and crumbled pork sausage. Sprinkle 2 cups shredded Jack cheese. Add drained and diced green chilies.
In separate bowl, beat 6 eggs and 2 cups milk together.
Add all spices, beat together until well mixed. Pour milk mixture over cheese and sausage. Cover with foil.
Chill overnight for at least 12 hours. Bake uncovered for 50 minutes. Outside edges will be brown. Do not over bake. Let stand 10 minutes before serving - serve hot.
